The Story of Megan Osgood

Born and raised in the mountains of Colorado, Megan began her journey as a young girl. Her mother had a passion for horses and saw that same light emerge in Megan. Surrounded by horses from an early age, Megan knew what it meant to truly exist alongside such an incredible animal. She values this in her work every day.
When Megan's first horse passed away, she found herself at Dreamcatchers Equine Rescue. Julie Demuesy, founder of DCER, saw a natural gift in Megan and mentored her alongside these broken, abandoned horses. She learned how to train and heal these horses, day in and day out. To this day, Dreamcatchers is an important part in Megan's life; she believes in the vision to help horses in need and to shine light on the fact that well-bred, sane, sound horses end up at rescues. They need us, they need you.
Outside of her work with her local horse rescue, Megan has apprenticed under equine professionals. She got her foot in the door exercising high-level western competition horses with Chris Dekker which led into further starting and training opportunities. To expand her knowledge, Megan began as a working student for Lenore Raff in Black Forest, a big name in the dressage industry. Through these experiences, Megan has been recommended to start and train imported warmbloods, gaited horses, western pleasure horses, speed sport horses, and competitive trail horses. She understands how to teach softness and collection with a light and positive approach using liberty that translates across all disciplines.

In Megan's personal life, she prioritizes her friends and family above all else. She loves to spend time in the mountains whether it be trail riding or hanging out by the river. She finds peace in music and in her closeness with nature. Centering herself fine tunes who she is as a person and being with horses is ultimately her true calling.
